适用范围
GB/T 21461《塑料 超高分子量聚乙烯（PE-UHMW）模塑和挤出材料》分为两个部分，本部分为GB/T 21461的第一部分。
本部分等同采用ISO 11542-1：2001《塑料 超高分子量聚乙烯（PE-UHMW）模塑和挤出材料——第1部分：命名系统和分类基础》（英文版）。
本部分的结构与ISO 11542-1：2001完全相同，为便于使用，命名和分类系统标准模式中省略了可选择的“热塑性塑料”说明组和国际标准（3.1）。
GB/T 21461的本部分规定了超高分子量聚乙烯（PE-UHMW）热塑性塑料材料的命名系统。该系统可作为分类基础。
本部分适用于所有PE-UHMW均聚物和其他1-烯烃单体质量分数小于50%及带有官能团的非烯烃单体质量分数不多于3%共聚物。
本部分适用于常规为粉状、颗粒或碎粒状，未改性或经着色剂、添加剂、填料等改性的材料。
本部分不意味着命名相同的材料必定具有相同的性能。本部分不提供用于说明材料特殊用途和（或）加工方法所需的工程数据、性能数据或加工条件数据。
